2. Boost/Cut Controls: Each of these controls represents a range of frequencies surrounding a center frequency to cover the audio spectrum from subwoofer to treble. Adjust these controls to suit your taste and listening environment. Each center frequency can be adjusted +/- 12 dB.
3. EQ On/Off Selector: This button permits you to turn on or off the equalization provided by the AVA1202.
4. X-Bass Processor On/Off: The AVA1202 features a BASS enhancement circuit called X-BASS. Use this when you want to emphasize the bass portion of your audio.
5. Fader: Use this control to balance the sound level between front and rear speakers as desired.

View larger How An Equalizer Is Used

The AVA1202 graphic equalizer is a high-fidelity signal processor/preamplifier that that allows you to graphically view and individually control a number of different frequency bands in a stereophonic system. It is intended for use in a car audio system which includes amplifiers in the signal path after the equalizer, and provides front, rear, and subwoofer low level outputs via RCA connectors. The AVA1202 consists of several audio filters, each centered at a specific frequency in the audio range. It enables you to cut or boost the output level by up to 12 decibels as desired at the following frequencies: 60Hz, 150Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz, or 20kHz. The AVA1202 also features a bass enhancement circuit called X-Bass. This allows you to add additional emphasis to the bass frequencies in the audio spectrum.
