The rail simply sides under the mattress and is held in place by " no slip foam" on the base bar. The rail can be used on either side of the bed. The handle is covered in foam for added comfort. All steel construction is solid and easy to clean. Comes in 3 tool free easy to assemble pieces. Handle can be removed for easy storage.
