The six compartments charge separately from each other, so any combination of battery sizes and types can be charged at the same time, and batteries can be taken out as you need them. The charger can charge NiMH, NiCd or rechargeable alkaline batteries. Microcontrolled charger recognizes the battery type and charges accordingly. LED lights indicate "charging" and "ready". Maximum charging current is 700mA. Charges using 120V AC houshold power or 12V DC, vehicle or solar panel. 2 year warranty. You can plug these chargers directly into a solar panel, the 12W Sol-Charger solar panel (about 600mA) is acceptable for solar charging. The 12W panel could power one charger at about 75% of max. charge rate or 600mA.
