Product Description

What is inside the package:
1) 10 Pre-poured LB-agar plates (100 x 15 mm Petri Dish)
2) 10 sterile swabs (in 5 pouches)

Storage condition and shelf life:
Store agar plates at 4 oC refrigerator with a shelf-life of up to 30 days.

Instructions:
LB-agar plates contain a yellowsih nutrient agar layer in the bottom half of a Petri dish. This yellowish layer is used to culture bacteria and other micro-organisms.
Sterile swabs are used to pick up bacteria and seed them on to the agar plates.
After the plates are swabbed, the plates should be incubated at 37 oC for optimal bacterial growth. Normally 24 hr incubation should be enough to see the appearance of bacterial colonies. Incubation at 25 oC or room temperature should take considerable longer time (2 to 3 days) to see bacterial colonies.

Notice:
1) The plates should be placed in an upside down position to prevent water condensation.
2) The plates should be placed in a closed box (NOT sealed) to minimize the chance of contamination.
3) The experiment should be terminated after 5 days. Prolonged incubation is strongly discouraged due to possible contamination in a non-sterile environment.
