Just like slipping a finger roll through the defense in the real NBA, success in this LEGO version of hoops depends on a soft touch: shoot too hard and your ball will go everywhere but in the basket. Before you get to the game, though, you will first have to assemble the thing, which isn’t too hard, given the text-free, crystal clear directions. The end result is two little LEGO men on opposite ends of a double-sided basketball hoop that rotates slowly (powered by a wind-up motor), to make the shooting even more challenging. The only thing that detracts from the fun is that there is nothing to catch the balls once they have been shot, and they have a tendency to bounce all over the room. There is also a mini-basketball (about 6") included in the package as a bonus. --David Stoesz
