I was supposed to receive a parcel by a due date; anyway eventually I discovered there was a problem with the courier company. E-mailing Wantitall.co.za they sorted out the problem and were apologetic for it. I can only give them 100% appreciation, in the future if I buy something else online I will buy from them. Having the peace of mind that I will receive it and if there are any problems it will be sorted out.

Nas, Damian Marley – Distant Relatives

Two musicians from an array of their genre disciples have collaborated to bring the much anticipated album titled Distant Relatives. The duo consists of world’s famous Hip Hop superstar Nas and Grammy-winning reggae and ragga artist Damian “Jr Gong” Marley who hails from Kingston Jamaica who is a son of Reggae legend Bob Marley. This album is a fusion of the two genres that are distant amongst each other and serves their fans with taste and style that suits them. so here in this new collaboration the two artist relives the title of their album that says Distant Relative, because they are exploring and celebrating the relationship and deep-rooted connections between reggae and hip-hop, with the sole intention of basically tracing both sounds back to its originality that is the mother-continent Africa that is both the cradle of humanity and the evolution of music.

This collaboration album works quite marvellously because it stepped right away in defining the black conscious music to gain recognition and popularity to this day. It is a thirteen track that is blazing with more fire songs like Tribal war (featuring K”NAAN) which is my favourite, wisdom, The promised land (featuring Dennis Brown) that gives you the conscious feeling of blackness, and many more tracks to listen to.
I, now seal this review by confidently saying this album is a five star rating, not that it features the best artists, and it is because it covers the link between reggae and hip hop at its entirety and excellence.

This long overdue 2010 album is now on the shelves of wantitall.co.za and truly you don’t want to miss this must have, perfect, quintessential collaboration album of the two stars.
