Batman: The Dark Knight Returns –Frank Miller
A new lease of life is good and shows transition that life develops to the larger extent of things. My point exactly is that sometimes we need to have this sense of inclination to just dwell back to the past merely for the good old time sake. A very perfect example that would make you to turn back the hands of time would have to be you want to relive the past times by reading the classical comic book of the batman collection. Believe you me this book work like magic because of its simplified linguistic used and the characters that are superbly fantastic. So for your simple pleasure i bet if you can peruse Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
by Frank Miller who is popularly known for his splendid work he did for Sin City series and his superb rendering of the blind superhero Daredevil--is probably the top contender. The Dark Knight is a success on every level.
Firstly it does keep the core elements of the Batman
myth intact, with Robin, Alfred the butler, Commissioner Gordon, and the old roster of villains, present yet brilliantly subverted. Secondly the artwork is fantastic--detailed, sometimes claustrophobic, psychotic. Lastly it's a great story: Gotham City is a hell on earth, street gangs roam but there are no heroes. Decay is ubiquitous. Where is a hero to save Gotham? It is 10 years since the last recorded sighting of the Batman. And things have got worse than ever. Bruce Wayne is close to being a broken man but something is keeping him sane: the need to see change and the belief that he can orchestrate some of that change. So no doubt about that indeed, because ultimately you will emerge as rich, bonafide comic follower.
This book is a thumb up and oozes with adrenaline suspense that makes you glued up until the last page. All this and more can be glimpsed at wantitall.co.za, period.
