Blu-ray - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Many of us out there refer to this film as Transformers 2 or as transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen which has been released since 2009 and its popularity has exceeded its expectations that the directors had never thought it would garner. The director at the helm of this American science fiction-action film is none other than the genius himself Steven Spielberg under the tutelage of Michael Bay who has outdone his worth in this sequel which by the way is the second film in the live-action Transformers film series. The brief synopsis of the film occurs around Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), the human caught in the war between two factions of alien robots, the Autobots and Decepticons. Sam is having near-epileptic episodes and visions of Cybertronian symbols, and is being hunted by the Decepticons under the orders of their long-trapped leader, The Fallen, who seeks to get revenge on Earth by finding and activating a machine that would provide the Decepticons with an energon source, destroying the Sun and all life on Earth in the process.  As far as the “plot” goes, the writers didn't waste much time--it's really just a context for the giant-robot death matches and dramatic slow-mo sequences. The movie kicks off two years later where the Autobots have formed an alliance with the U.S. government, creating an elite team led by Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel), in an effort to snuff out any remaining Decepticons that show up. The bad guys keep coming, and it turns out that a much more menacing force than Megatron is out there--and it is looking for something on Earth that is tied to the very origin of the Transformers race. Fans of the franchise will be delighted by the addition of many new robot characters (there are well over 40 in the sequel, versus only 13 in the first).

The second Transformers have shaped up to be one of the worst reviewed and most successful movies of all time. This strange pairing is really just an indication that this movie has one purpose: to entertain. The creators didn't want to waste time bogging down the action and drama with substance which was arguably a good decision. Moreover to show how this thriller film had an effect in the lives of the people who watched it, it even lead to the situation whereby we saw the new comic book being released which was inspired by the film, together with the variety of videogame titles that was released on the consoles such as PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo of the very same title.
