Just Dance your way to fitness in 2010  

According to UK newspaper, The Independent, jogging to get fit is so 2009. Their list of new year’s fitness techniques include Rollerski, Toning Shoes and Nintnedo Wii. 

With the price of home fitness equipment dropping and other innovations like the Wii fitness range, it’s easier for consumers to get fit within the confines of their own home. According to UK Virgin Active national fitness manager, Nick Hudson, 2010’s workouts will be fast, accessible and enjoyable. Perfect for 2010, then, Just Dance  for the Nintendo console turns dancing into an exercise routine.  

The Wii Dance Dance Revolution series threw in the Wii Remote and Nunchuck movements while We Cheer simulates cheering maneuvers. Ubisoft’s latest offering, Just Dance, now adds posing to the mix.  

The game’s 32 songs, see you hold the remote with your right hand and follow the onscreen coach who will score you based on your individual moves which are then scored and ranked against other players. The modes in the game include Classic (as mentioned), Last One Standing (survival situation where making mistakes will get you kicked off the floor), Strike a Pose (where you keep dancing until you are instructed to stop and strike a pose. Failing to stop sees you lose points). The warmup mode prevents the other modes from pulling a muscle, which is very similar to freestyling.  

The game boasts great sounds and a array of music by original artists and a few covers of pop songs ranging over a several different eras. The fitness dancing game, Just Dance, is available on WantItAll.
