Canon celebrates Earth Day with eco-friendly products

World-renowned imaging solutions company, Canon, celebrates world Earth Day with an increased demand for their eco-friendly products and the launch of an eco-friendly calculator. The imaging company is committed to being green by purchasing environmentally conscious parts and raw materials to make their products environmentally friendly.

Despite a Cone Consumer Survey, which indicated that 44% of consumers’ spending on eco-friendly products has remain unchanged over the last year, Canon claims otherwise. According to the company, they have seen an increase in demand for their green products.

Canon’s “Green procurement” programme requires that a strict set of criteria be met when obtaining pulp and paper products for its copying and printing paper as well their packaging materials. By doing this the company reduces the use of its resources and minimises the waste.

The programme also has a great economic impact on the green market by encouraging other suppliers in the industry to also go green with their manufacturing. According to Canon Corporate Communications Manager at Canon Middle, Mai Youssef, the company is very serious about reducing energy and eliminating hazardous substances in the procurement of raw materials.

The commemoration of Earth Day was marked by Canon reaffirming its commitment to continue producing eco-friendly products and the launch of the X Mark | Print assembled from recycled Canon products aimed at small businesses.
