Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn to come to the big screen

Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn to come to the big screen

The fourth installment of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn will be coming to the big screen, despite previous rumours that the book would be too violent for its audience. Bill Condon, director of Dream Girls and screenplay writer for Chicago, will be bringing the book to the big screen.

Celebuzz reported the breaking news which was swiftly followed by an announcement by Summit Entertainment, the motion picture development company that brought fans the first three films, that Stephenie Meyer was overjoyed that Condon would be directing the last installment in the series.

The third film, Eclipse, starring previous celebs Robert Pattinosn and Kirsten Stewart, hits cinemas June 30. The previous film, New Moon, grossed $709.7 million worldwide. Although many compare the series’s success to that of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling’s films have made it higher on the charts than any of Meyer’s. The six Potter films reached 6th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 17th and 26th places on the highest grossing movies of all time list. New Moon only made it to number 37.

Breaking Dawn follows the story of vampire Edward Cullen and his human bride Bella Swan after their marriage and honeymoon. Bella then falls pregnant with an abomination, half vampire, half human which begins to grow at a rapid rate. The child puts Bella’s life in danger which upsets Jacob Black, Bella’s other love interest and wolf shape-shifter.

Breaking Dawn, the novel, and New Moon, the film, are both available from WantItAll.
