Letters to Juliet

Letters to Juliet

On May 14, 2010 that’s when this romantic drama starring Amanda Seyfried, Chris Egan, Vanessa Redgrave, Gael García Bernal, and Franco Nero, was released. The story is based on a young American (Amanda Seyfried) travels to the city of Verona, home of the star-crossed lover Juliet Capulet of Romeo and Juliet fame, she joins a group of volunteers who respond to letters to Juliet seeking advice about love. After answering one letter dated from 1957, she inspires its author (Vanessa Redgrave) to travel to Italy in search of her long-lost love, which sets off a chain of events that will bring a love into both their lives unlike anything they have ever imagined.

The main actress is not newto the big screen and roles as she is mostly remembered for  film debut in Mean Girls playing Karen Smith, the ditziest of the so called 'plastics'. She then went on to other films including Nine Lives (2005) and Alpha Dog (2007). In 2008, after landing a lead role on HBO's popular television series, Big Love, in 2006, Seyfried appeared as Sophie Sheridan in the musical feature film Mamma Mia! Other recent notable appearances include lead roles in Jennifer's Body and Chloe in 2009 and one of the two lead roles in Dear John the following year. Like almost every other romantic flicks the main actress has to meet a potential soul-mate, in this movie the candidate seems to be Chris Egan as (Charlie Wyman), Claire's unpleasant grandson (as he described himself). Although he appears to be like that, and also grumpy, Claire explains that he has a good heart, like his father. Charlie soon develops a relationship with Sophie, and he becomes her love interest.
