- 3.INSTALLATION: Replacement Ring Gear is easy to install and can directly replace old or damaged engine flywheel ring gears. When installed on a flywheel it will add about 1.5 lbs to the overall rotating mass. You may use a BBQ pit or over in lie of welding torch to heat your starter ring gear.
