Orange Mountain Music presents the premiere recording of Philip Glass s 1991 to Errol Morris s film about the life and work of Stephen Hawking A Brief History of Time. This film marked the second of three famous collaborations between composer Glass and director Morris: The first was A Thin Blue Line (OMM0007) and the third was The Fog of War (OMM0010) which won the Academy Award for best documentary. This 56-minute score for orchestra captures the ethos of Hawking s journeys into the furthest realms of scientific thought and Morris s probing cinematic style.
