The name of this trap (Blackburne Shilling) is associated to Joseph Henry Blackburne (1841-1924), surname Black Death, who according to the legend earned his life by playing a shilling a game (an old English coin = 5 pence), at least 100 thousands players. Remember when in New York thirty years ago the bet was one dollar a game.

Instead of showing you some hundreds of opening traps, in many different openings, where at the end of the reading no one will be remembered, with the regret of knowing that in a similar position there's a winning sequence, which you do not recall; I will fully cover just one trap, rather unknown, which claimed many victims, up to Master level. Who however are able (they) to win even after losing one solid piece. But normally the game ends in 7 moves.
