- AMACO Underglaze Chalk Crayons Set No. 1 (#208) includes 8 assorted colors: Yellow, Turquoise, Dark Green, White, Rose, Dark Blue, Brown, and Black.
- From intense hues to pastel tones, AMACO Underglaze Chalk Crayons can be used as is, sharpened for fine detail, or dissolved in water for painting or spraying.
- Chalk Crayon sticks measure 2-3/4" x 7/16".
- Use water to help with shading and blending once the chalk has been laid down on the surface, or to create a watercolor effect.
- To reduce smudging while applying liquid ceramic pottery glaze over chalk work, mix 1 tablespoon of gum solution with 1 pint of water and spray on work before applying the liquid glaze.
- Maximum firing temperature is Cone 05 for Rose; Cone 5 for Yellow and Turquoise; and Cone 10 for Black, Brown, Dark Blue, Dark Green, and White.
- If left unglazed, Chalk Crayons should not be used on surfaces which come in contact with food or drink; food safe only when applied and fired under AMACO LG-10 Clear Transparent Gloss Glaze.
AMACO Underglaze Decorating Crayon Set contains rose, yellow, dark blue, turquoise, dark green, brown, black and white colored crayons for a total of 8 pieces in a hinged-lid plastic box. Chalk crayon can be used to obtain watercolor effects by brushing sketches with water. Non-Toxic crayon is used like pastels on bisque and may be blended or smoothed by rubbing with fingers or swabs. It is covered with clear transparent glaze and are sharpened for fine lines or dissolved in water for painting and spraying. The ceramic decoration allows for unusual effects and a variety of textures.
