I wrote this book in an effort to remove some of the mystery behind VAâ€™s disability claims process and share with you some insight that will help guide you through your own claimâ€“from start to finish. As you read this book, try to think of this as me walking you through your claim; warning you of the obstacles that lie ahead and sharing some goodies for you to pick up along the way. During the span of my seven-year career with the Veterans Benefits Administration, I was Coach. Before then, I served the VA and Veterans in having been a Veterans Service Representative (VSR), an employee responsible for developing claims and also as a Rating Veterans Service Representative (RVSR), one who actually rated disabilities and granted or denied service connection for claimed conditions. Through my experience in these unique responsibilities, I providing you a personal roadmap for completing your own claim.

This second edition has updated information and new restrictions and requirements for Service members filing a claim through the Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) claim process. These new requirements went into effect on October 1, 2017 and was the main impetus for my writing a second edition.
