  • NATURALLY AFRICAN – This raw goat skin is sourced from within West Africa, cleaned, and inspected for thickness and blemishes. No bleach, dye, or salts used for excellent sound and strength.
  • SHAVED SKIN FOR EASY INSTALLATION – This goat skin offers the convenience of simply wetting and installing on your African drum, saving you the time and hassle of shaving the hair. Hair color and skin pigmentation vary, with most top-layer skin pigments being greyish-brown (shaving deeper reveals a whiter skin color).
  • LOW BASS, MEDIUM TONES, AND HIGH CLEAR SLAPS – The thick shaved goat skin is suitable for most standard-size djembe hand drums and delivers the classic djembe sound. This thicker selection produces stronger tones and can withstand higher tension compared to thin or standard skins.
  • INSPECTED FOR QUALITY AND SOUND – Before shipping, each skin is inspected for natural flaws or defects that could affect the sound or longevity of the skin. Please note that due to the nature of the shaving, soaking, mounting, drying, and tuning processes, which depend on the skill of the drum builder and the natural strength of the skin — we cannot offer a warranty once the skin has been shaved or soaked.
