Honor America's past with this Civil War Coin and Stamp Collection. The collection begins by showcasing the four Lincoln Bicentennial Pennies minted in 2009. The Bicentennial Pennies were minted to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of Lincoln's birth. Each penny shows a different reverse containing an important stage of Lincoln's life. The set also contains the 2010 Lincoln Union Shield Penny. The shield on the reverse of the penny contains the words E Pluribus Unum to honor Lincoln's contibution of uniting the people of the United States. Two Golden Presidential Dollars flank the sides of the collection. The 2010 Lincoln Presidential Dollar and the 2011 Grant Presidential Dollar celebrate their dedication to preserving the United States. The collection continues with five commemorative stamps covering significant moments leading up to and during the civil war, a 1948, 3-cent Gettysburg Address Stamp, a 1961, 4-cent Fort Sumter Stamp, a 1963, 5-cent Gettysburg Battle Stamp, a 1964, 5-cent The Wilderness Stamp and a 1965, 5-cent Battle of Appomattox Stamp. On April 12, 1861, the Confederate Army fired a shot on a Federal Fort to begin the United States Civil War. On April 9, 1865, Confederate General Robert E. Lee fought his last battle at the Appomattox Courthouse before surrendering to Union General Ulysses S. Grant. The collection is displayed in a protective wallet style portfolio.
