Product Description

American Educational Equal Mass Set

  • Equal mass set for study of weighing concepts
  • Five cylinders for demonstrating inverse relationship between density and length
  • Tin, aluminum, lead, zinc, and copper samples for comparison
  • Stamped for identification
  • Suitable for use in physics classroom setting

The American Educational 7-1323 equal mass set is used for study of weighing concepts, and has five cylinders for demonstrating the inverse relationship between density and length. The cylinders consist of tin, aluminum, lead, zinc, and copper for comparison. Tin is malleable and ductile at ordinary temperatures, and resists corrosion; aluminum resists corrosion and tarnishing, and is lightweight; lead is a dense, metallic element that is malleable and ductile; zinc is hard, brittle, and a fair conductor of electricity, and is commonly alloyed with other metals or used to galvanize (coat) iron or steel against corrosion; copper is both ductile and malleable, conducts heat and electricity well, is resistant to corrosion, and tarnishes easily to form a protective layer of brownish-black copper oxide coating. The cylinders are stamped for identification. The set is suitable for use in a physics classroom setting.

Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

American Educational Products, LLC, manufactures and supplies classroom materials and teaching tools for science and math education, as well as early childhood and active play products. The company, founded in 1986, is based in Fort Collins, CO.
