Description
- 【Operating Instructions 1】Step 1: Set the target tension. Rotate the knurled knob at the top to adjust the scale to the standard deflection value specified in the vehicle manual. This knob functions similarly to a micrometer, with the large scale being the primary scale and the small scale the secondary scale. Readings can be taken from either the front or back
- 【Operating Instructions 2】Step 2: Clamp the belt. Position the U-shaped jaw at the bottom of the tensioner vertically over the belt's midpoint. Ensure the jaw fully contacts both sides of the belt. Keep the tool level and gently press it down until the internal pin contacts the belt surface
- 【Operating Instructions 3】Step 3: Measure and read. Slowly rotate the knob to apply pressure to the belt until the pin depresses it to the preset scale position. Observe the indicator line on the slider to read the actual deflection value: a. If the reading matches the standard value, tension is correct. b. If the reading is high (belt depresses easily), the belt is too loose; adjust the tensioner pulley. c. If the reading is low (belt is difficult to depress), the belt is too tight and some tension must be released
- 【Operating Instructions 4】Step 4: Adjustment and Verification Loosen the tensioner pulley mounting bolts. Adjust belt tension via the tensioner pulley mechanism. Repeat Steps 2-3 and measure again until the reading meets the standard value. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolts. Manually rotate the crankshaft two full turns. Measure again to confirm stable tension
- 【Notes】Safety Note,The engine must be completely shut off and cooled before measurement to avoid burns or mechanical injury.1. Do not measure when the belt is contaminated with oil or moisture, as this will affect accuracy;2. Select the measurement point at the midpoint of the belt span to avoid reading deviations caused by proximity to the pulley;3. After adjustment, start the engine and check for abnormal noises, slippage, or unusual vibrations
