Avengers

Stunning CD collecting all of the original vinyl releases of the seminal San Francisco punk group (they opened the final Sex Pistols show!) plus a few rarities. Fronted by punk pin-up Penelope Houston, the Avengers were perhaps the best US punk group with political lyrics and a great sound, benefitting from Steve Jones production on a few tracks (including a song Jones later heisted for his own act, the Professionals). Out of print for years due to legal issues, this CD is extremely rare (some say it is harder to locate than the Dangehouse singles it contains!) and unlikely to be repressed!
