The original spacers were made of low-density brittle/cheap materials and will often break during installation/adjustments. These replacements address these issues by using a far superior material and increasing the density significantly. Rather than brittle, the material used in the replacement is slightly flexible and allows the spacer to fit snuggly into the gap between the base and speaker stem. The result is a durable spacer that can handle installation and adjustments for years to come!
