Excerpt:
"Infection has eliminated every living female on this planet. Our means to live are completely exterminated. Without those to bring offspring, we will not survive."
Julia repeated herself about it not being her fault, but the ape just wasn't listening. To her, he seemed to have a vendetta against the entirety of the human race, and she and her co-pilot just happened to crash in the very middle of their colony.
"What are you going to do to us?"
The main ape snorted as they came to an opening in the trees and numerous holes in a rocky face of a hill. Each one looked like a cave, large enough for one of the apes to fit through.
When the group paused at the clearing, the leader turned around and faced the elder of the two women and looked deep into her eyes. "Your health is of a primary concern, because we are not going to kill you."
Julia took a slow, deep breath, although the hostility of this large behemoth standing over her did not disappear.
"When your people came to experiment on us, they found that our two species were quite similar. Close enough for potential mating."
Julia looked over at Kim, who was fighting and pushing against the arms that held her tight. She knew the woman's attempts would be useless, but the poor girl was trying with an energy she had never seen out of her.
"Day and night we have asked the stars to deliver us a new life. We saw the light in the sky not long ago. The sky has given us a gift."
