Can Can

Set in the Montmartre district of Paris at the turn of the 20th century, Can Can follows the adventures of an attorney (Frank Sinatra) and his client (Shirley MacLaine), owner of the Cafe Le Bal du Paradis, in their lively encounter with the Paris courts. Sinatra's appearance was part of a contractual obligation after walking off set Carousel in 1954, but a hefty fee and part of the profits ensured his continued interest in the film! It proved a major success on the charts, peaking at #2 and spending more than 30 weeks on the UK listings.
