Your goal is to use resources like lumber, grain, wool, ore, brick in the most effective manner to build roads, settlements and cities and to outdo you opponents. One acquires resources through trades, cards, or lucky dice. Certain combinations of resources allow a player to build. Opponents may slow down your progress by blocking your roads or creating a monopoly !

BONUS Six Pearlized Swirl (d6) standard size dice _ 2 each in gold, silver and bronze swirl color. Nice addition for playing catan as well as many other popular board games.

Players can expand their game with the purchase of other Catan 5th edition Expansions (sold elsewhere on Amazon.) 5th ed CATAN is compatible with the various 4th editions. Hexes will be made of the same material and the same die cut. The card backs are the same. Wood pieces are the same color and size.

EXPANSIONS are new themed game versions which can be joined to the Catan Game. EXPANSIONS are for 3 or 4 players. Expansions sold elsewhere on Amazon.
