Note that installation of this mount requires drilling and tapping three holes in the side of the rifle receiver - a template, mounting screws, and detailed instructions are included. The long-rail mount (Type A) extends over ejection port to protect long scopes from spent casings. The short-rail mount (Type B) is suitable for compact scopes and red-dot/reflex/holographic sights and allows use of stripper clips. The optional plates allow the use of holes from previously installed scope mounts. The optional long plate with four holes matches the screw pattern of several other scope mounts on the market. The long plate without holes can be drilled to match holes from other scope mounts such as the Mosin-Nagant sniper style.
