This is Duke from the Thomas & Friends series by Ertl (1997). Duke is the oldest of the Narrow Gauge engines and so the most experienced. He enjoys teaching the others the proper way to do things and often talks about the Good Old Days when rules and regulartions were obeyed. Despite his head teacher attitude he is gentle and kind to youger enginer, but maintains his authority at all times. Historical Note: Duke is based on an 0-4-0 saddle tank engine. It was built in London by Gerorge England in 1863, and was designed to bring slate wagons from quarries to the cost.
