Ekone Oyster Company is one of the largest independent oyster farmers and is based on the Willapa Bay in Southwest Washington, near the mouth of the Columbia River. The Willapa is the cleanest bay in the United States.

Now all Ekone oysters are longline grown. Growing oysters away from the sandy bottom of the seabed not only avoids collecting unwanted sand and grit, but it also encourages the oysters to grow into a large, firm shape for a great texture. Longline farming is an eco-friendly way to farm oysters. Other farming methods can be harmful to local plant life, but longline farming is gentle and noninvasive.

These oysters are a truly unique, boutique oyster. They are not shucked, but steamed open for the best flavor and texture. They are grown, harvested, smoked, and canned by Ekone in their Bay Center facility. There are no machines everything is done by hand, from the harvesting to the steaming, to the smoking.
