Edgar Roy, un supuesto asesino en serie encarcelado en una prision federal de maxima seguridad parecida a una fortaleza, aguarda el juicio. Se enfrenta a una condena casi segura. Ted Bergin, el abogado de Roy y viejo amigo y mentor de Sean, recurre a este para que le ayude en el caso. Pero la investigacion se desbarata incluso antes de comenzar.
