Organic Whole Cardamom Pods. Cardamom is the seedpod of a perennial bushy herb Elettaria Cardamomum of the ginger family. The seedpods are triangular in cross section; spindle shaped and have a thin, fibrous outer shell and small black seeds. It is a cool spice with a distinctly minty aroma. The better grades of cardamom have green capsules that are 6mm or larger; organic cardamom tend to have a lighter green color since they are not treated.
