1.5 oz/sq ft mat, 4" Wide, 0.045" ThickChopped Strand Mat Tape is ideally suited to reinforce the seams, corners, or edges of larger parts made from chopped strand mat or other fiberglass fabrics.Fabricators generally tear apart this tape, rather than cut it. This maintains the length of fibers along the torn edge, which create stronger bonds with subsequent layers.Mat Tape is called tape only for its width and appearance. It is not adhesive backed. Like its fabric counterpart, it contains a binder that holds it together and prevents proper bonding with any epoxy resins. PLEASE NOTE: it is only compatible with polyester or vinyl ester resins.For applications requiring a wider format, use Chopped Strand Mat in 38-inch (#250) and 50-inch (#1250) widths.
