Holst realized that there was an untapped market for milk chocolate, in addition to the dark chocolate and other minor products Freia was producing at the time. By the turn of the century, Freia was the leading Norwegian brand in sweets. The Firklover chocolate bar was launched in 1926, helping to secure Freia's place in the marketplace.
