The kydex is molded around the trigger guard for a custom fit and fixed with a loop of cord.
Usage includes attaching the cord to a stationary object such as a belt loop, nightstand, inside of a bag/purse , etc. When the pistol is drawn the holster snaps away providing a ready weapon. This allows safe carriage of a chambered pistol both on and off body.
