Scofield marked his time, to say the least. It was at the request of several leaders of the French-speaking evangelical world that the Bible Society of Geneva undertook the publication of this study Bible, the first in French. Next to the biblical text according to the NEG version, it contains:  brief introductions to the great sections of the canon and to the biblical books, with a summary plan; clear and concise notes of historical and doctrinal order (it is not a systematic verse-by-verse commentary); detailed chain themes (quote verses concerned); an index of notes; a harmony of the Gospels; selective concordance; parallel references.  The proposed interpretations are linked to a well-defined theological perspective: dispensationalism.  The first edition was published in 1975. The 7th edition, in 1996, allowed the addition of a Bible study guide and a concordance.  The original edition of the notes and paragraph titles is the Scofield Reference Bible (1967, Oxford University Press).
