Pink, rose, and yellow flowers cover the lid of Galison's set of Impressionist Blossoms correspondence cards. They are details from Claude Monet's 1897 painting Chrysanthemums that is now in a private collection. They also star on one of the four card designs in the box. Others are Camille Pissarro's A Vase of Peonies, 1875, from the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford, UK; Roses by Auguste Pierre Renoir, c.1885, from a private collection; and Vincent Van Gogh's Blossoming Almond Branch in a Glass with a Book, 1888, in a private collection. All are oil on canvas paintings.
