Piano Cto 1: Introduction Et Allegro / Symphonie

Until now, French composer Benjamin Godard was known only for his violin concertos. This disc features his equally delectable first piano concerto, brought brilliantly to life by pianist Victor Sangiorgio with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Martin Yates. It is accompanied by the showpiece Introduction et Allegro of 1880 and the Symphonie Orientale of 1884, which reflects the highpoint of French Orientalism.
