How to use them?
This product contains two ramps. To extend the ramps, pull the first part and the second part until the lock button is fully stretched into the hole and stuck in place. When you're done, just retract them and put them in a nylon bag. Retractable design makes it convenient to store at home, in the car, etc.
How do I measure the right wheelchair ramp?
First, you need to measure the wheel width of the wheelchair. The internal orbital width of these ramps is 4.5 inches. Before ordering, make sure that each wheel is no more than 4.5 inches wide.
Next, to calculate the length of the ramp you need, measure the rise first. The rise is the measurement between the ground and where the top of the ramp will be placed. The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that public areas have wheelchair ramps with an incline of 4.8 degrees or less (a ratio of 1:12). This equals one foot of ramp for every inch of rise. For residential areas such as homes, ADA recommends a 2:12 slope. This equals one foot of ramp for every two inches of rise. To calculate the ramp length you will need, divide the rise by two. For home use, these ramps would work for rises up to 10 inches.
