All of our GRAY wheels are handmade from high modulus carbon. Each rim is designed to give you maximum aerodynamics and minimum weight, while still retaining incredible structural strength. Structural strength is so important to GRAY that their engineers made it their primary focus. All of this has led to the production of an amazingly solid, strong and stiff rim that can handle a rider up to 240 lbs, while still maintaining an extremely light weight. RIM DESIGN: Each rim is designed to give you maximum aerodynamics and minimum weight, while still retaining incredible structural strength. FULL CARBON CLINCHER: The all Carbon 45/80CC set is designed to absorb overheating from braking during long descents. The tubular portion of the rim has an extremely high heat tolerance and dispersement, which allows for heat to build up in the rim bed as opposed to the sidewall. This design feature reduces the risk of overheating the rim. SHAPE: The 45 CC has a moderate tordial shape which has been proven by third party independent testing to be the most aerodynamic. The sidewalls are made from 7 independent layers of carbon and offer incredible lateral strength. SPOKES: Sapim and Pillar. BEARINGS: Fully Sealed Japanese EZO bearings. All nipples are internally mounted making for a clean and more aerodynamic surface. BRAKING SURFACE: The braking surface is made from Basalt and features a stronger and more durable surface than just clear coated carbon.
