- 2.Appearance: White powder or granules; Melting point: 1089°C; Density: 2.4 g/cm³; Refractive index: 1.520 (in glassy state).
- 3.Solubility: Readily soluble in cold water; hydrolyzes in hot water.
- 4.pH value: The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline (pH=11 at 1 mM concentration, pH=12.62 at 100 mM concentration).
- 5.Sodium Metasilicate is widely used in various industrial fields, including detergents, ceramics, electroplating, textiles, printing and dyeing, papermaking, cement, concrete, fat and oil processing, and leather manufacturing.
