• Hallucigenia are a genus from the Cambrian period, 541-485.4 million years ago. They have been discovered in shale deposits in Canada and China. Hallucigenia have 7-8 pairs of legs that end in a pair of claws. Above their legs is a stiff spine.
• Hallucigenia are so poorly misunderstood and strange, they were first reconstructed upside and backwards. It's lumped together with other odd worms with legs.
