Jake, a devoted nurse and generally happy guy, settled a long time ago. Rather than become a doctor, he took on home care. Instead of finding a relationship, he has lived his life mostly single and spends his free time with his friend, Alice. He doesnâ€™t question any of this, until he gets a new patient, Scott.

Scott, a writer, is confined to a wheelchair, covered in stitches and wallowing in his own self-pity after a vicious attack. Jake is determined to find out who hurt him, but Scott isnâ€™t talking.
