This lustrous freshwater cultured pearl necklace was selected for their exceptional color, brilliant luster, mesmerizing iridescence, and unique shapes. The intriguing dark coloring of these pearls exhibits deeper toning than most naturally colored Tahitian pearls, but unlike Tahitian pearls free-form baroque freshwater pearls are 100% nacre and do not have a nucleus at their core. In other words, they're 100% pearl! Their intriguing baroque shapes formed naturally in the shell, thus they are called free-form baroque. Each pearl is unique in form, adding a layer of complexity to the design. The pearls were color treated to create their dark tones; they have not been lacquered and the color is permanent. The intense iridescence (surface orient) of these pearls exhibit hints of aubergine, green, blue, and copper. These baroque beauties are hand knotted on fine thread and the necklace is finished with a premium hand polished sterling silver ball clasp.
