The Home Right Replacement Spray Gun Tip (515), Power-Flo Pro. A spray gun tip for paint sprayers has two components for size purposes: Fan Size and Orifice Size. The most common type of tip to use for spraying latex paint is a 515 spray tip. The first digit represents the fan size and in this case, "5" means that when you multiply it by 2, you get 10-Inch fan size. Keep in mind that this is when you're spraying 12-Inches from the surface. The last two digits represent the orifice size and in this case, "15" means that paint has a 15-thousandths opening to go through. The orifice size directly relates to how many felons per minute of material is passed through the tip. The 515 tip is generally good at spraying thicker materials, however, keep in mind that as the tip wears, the orifice will enlarge. It's important to remember this when choosing the right tip for your project. The 515 spray tip uses a 100-mesh filter.
