NDx8 Filter Information Neutral Density (ND) filters help reduce the amount of light entering the lens, but have no affect on colour balance. The ND 8 filter has a filter factor of 3-stops, so you are able to slow down the shutter speed or increase the aperture by 3-stops. This standard NDx8 filter is un-coated has a 5mm thick frame and is made in the Philippines. The main uses are: 1. To enable slower shutter speeds so as to emphasize movement, such as waterfalls, clouds, the sea, automobiles, etc. 2.
