How to use
- Fully immerse the whetstone in water and soak until bubbles no longer appear (+/-10 minutes). Make sure that while grinding the surface of the stone remains wet by sprinkling additional water on the stone.
- First, using the 1000 grit side, slide the blade along the stone at a 10~30 degree angle while applying consistent light pressure. Maintain a steady angle on both sides (with the angle guide if necessary). Usually, once this is done, the knife will not have to be sharpened with the 1000 grit side for another half a year.
- Then using the 6000 grit side, polish your knife by gently sliding each side of the blade across the stone. Generally, to keep the knife continuously sharp, you can sharpen the knife with the 6000 grit side once per week.
- After sharpening, clean the knife with a wet cloth or water, then dry. Use a soft brush to clean the sharpening stone, then place in a ventilated place to dry.
