In the Beginning

This exciting 2015 CD is A TRUE COLLECTOR'S ITEM. It contains 25 tracks, 21 of which have never been previously released and 4 which are very rare. 13 were recorded in stereo by Columbia in 1962 at New York City's famed Bon Soir club but have never been commercially available until now (Though Streisand DID use 5 Bon Soir tracks on her '91 box set, "For the Record," she did NOT use these). Also on the new CD are 8 unreleased audition demos cut for RCA with Barbra and piano. And there are 4 songs that come from her first 2 singles that are long out of print, were never re-issued, and that she re-recorded for her first LPs. This CD is different from YouTube (amateur) postings (that are raspy and compressed), and the sound quality on this CD is STUNNING, with clarity, warmth and intimacy. It's professionally remastered from different audio sources by a top engineer who has done work for EMI. Hear Barbra interact with the audience with charm and wit. Her voice is awesome and powerful as she reaches those high notes. "In the Beginning" is beautifully packaged with fascinating liners, rare pics and gorgeous original art. This CD is a historic treasure no fan of Streisand's will want to miss! It's a Barbra we never saw or heard again.
