About Kokeshi:
Kokeshi (ã“ã‘ã— kokeshi), are Japanese dolls, originally from Tohoku-northern Japan. They are handmade from wood which are Mizuki or Kaede in Japanese, suit for making dolls.
Kokeshi have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has their special hand-painted design, and covered with a layer of wax.
One characteristic of Creative Kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs, and is formed by the free and unrestrained imagination of an individual artist.
