Many of these selections are making their first appearance on compact disc, and some are being issued here for the first time anywhere. All have been expertly remastered from the best available sources. Conaty provides insightful introductions to each recording in the enclosed 20-page illustrated booklet. Highlights in Volume 9 include previously unissued performances from Fred Astaire, Irving Aaronson's Commaners, Nina Mae McKinney, and Irene Taylor, as well as rarities from Glen Gray's Casa Loma Orchestra, Red Nichols, crooner Charlie Palloy, and others. 76 minutes.
