Durable Ripstop Ballistic Exterior: The heavy-duty cover will withstand scratching, digging, and occasional mouthing or chewing. Great for dogs that like to get a little rough with their beds! For dogs that tend to chew heavily when crated, especially due to anxiety, we recommend one of our Chew Proof Armored Padded Dog Crate beds instead.
Recycled Fiberfill Padding: Filled to a 1.5” thickness with 100% recycled polyester fiberfill, this pad gives old water bottles a second chance at life and helps divert plastic waste from clogging up our landfills. Lightweight, comfortable, and flexible, this pad is also easy to pack for camping and travel.
Easy Clean: The ballistic material is fur, dirt, stain, and odor resistant. It can be spot-cleaned between uses with a damp towel, or you can machine wash it whole for a deeper cleaning.
Anchor Point Tie-Downs: Each corner of the pad has a loop of fabric that can be used to tie the bed down to the bottom of the crate. Simply loop a zip tie through the anchor and around the wire of the crate and then tighten to install. For best results, use the bottom wires of the crate, rather than the sides. One set of zip ties is included with each pad.
Two Fabric Styles: Regular ripstop (Blue Quartz, Obsidian Black, Sandstone) and Velvet ripstop (Light Gray Velvet). Both are durable; the regular ripstop has a slick, canvas-like texture that is great for outdoor and indoor beds alike, while the velvet ripstop has a plush surface for extra comfort. Velvet pads do best as indoor-only beds, since the extra texture can attract fur and dirt more easily.

Constructed of our own proprietary blend of 1680 denier Ripstop ballistic nylon, our TUFF series dog beds and crate pads are the most chew-proof cushion beds available. These densely woven covers will resist tearing and scratching, and the Ripstop pattern of fibers prevents small holes from growing in size. The smooth, canvas-like texture of the pad allows dirt, fur, and liquids to slide right off, so cleanup is a breeze. Most messes can be simply wiped up with a damp towel, but these pads can be machine-washed whole in cold water on a delicate cycle if needed. The TUFF crate pad is filled with dense, polyester stuffing to give it a plump shape and to cushion your dog from the hard crate bottom. It is fully enclosed, sealed tight around all edges with double-stitching for extra strength, and gives your dog no zippers or Velcro closures to fixate on.

Experienced dog owners know that there's nothing out there short of hard metal that's truly chew-proof; dogs have been known to chew through Kevlar, sheetrock, and chain-link fencing, to name a few, but when it comes to a soft, pillow-style bed, our TUFF beds really are the toughest on the market. The TUFF Crate Pad has a Chew Proof Rating of 4 out of 5, meaning that it will stand up to 90% of chewers and works best for light or moderate chewers. The flexibility and thinness of this pad make it easier for a dog to pinch between its jaws, so it isn't recommended for dogs that chew constantly when crated. For a heavy or persistent chewer, only our Cujo Cot Raised Aluminum bed will do (and yes, it can indeed be used in a wire crate). If you do have a dog that manages to damage this bed within the first 90 days of purchase, we'll replace the pad once free of charge as per our Chew Proof Guarantee.
